aa   We would like to invite you to participate in the Second European Network     for Socio-Emotional Competence in Children (ENSEC) Conference on     9-12 September, 2009, Izmir Turkey. ENSEC is a collaborative network for     European researchers and practitioners working in the area of social and emotional     competence in children and young people.

        The theme of the 2009 conference will be Promoting Social-Emotional Education:     Practitioners and Researchers Exploring Evidence Based Practice. This theme     provides a focus for the research to be presented and discussed and for practice     based on research in social and emotional education. There are four key conference     sub-themes:

1. Policy and provision: developing national strategies
2. Early intervention: building social and emotional competence
3. Successful strategies: building effectiveness through personal and professional
   development
4. Emancipatory research and practice: children and young persons as partners in research and practice
